Pricing
Priced per line of work.
Cloud, Studios and Tech's consulting are priced differently because they are different kinds of work. There is no single plan, and a house-wide price would be a number nobody could honour.

What sets the price
Usage
An instance starts at $5.20 a month for the entry size and is billed by the hour, so a machine destroyed at lunchtime is charged to lunchtime. Larger instances are priced in proportion. Bandwidth and storage are counted while they are used. Nothing is charged per seat, so adding people does not move the bill.
Scope and duration
What the title has to do, how much of it is built rather than assembled, and how long the team is held for it. Scope is agreed in writing before work starts, and a change to it is repriced rather than absorbed quietly. The same scope over a longer schedule costs more.
Engagement length
Consulting is booked by the day against a minimum. What moves the rate is how long the engagement runs and how much of the team it holds: a two-day assessment and a six-month embedded engagement are not the same commitment.
In every engagement
- A named person who owns the work and answers for it.
- A written scope agreed before anything is billed.
- The reasoning behind each decision, written down rather than carried in someone's head.
- Handover at the end: access, source and notes. What you paid for is yours.
Not included
- Third-party licences and anything else bought on your behalf. Passed through at cost, never marked up.
- Work outside the agreed scope. It gets quoted, not slipped in.
- Out-of-hours cover, unless the contract says so. A commitment nobody staffed is not a commitment.
How billing works
Cloud is billed after the period it covers, with the usage that produced the figure shown beside it. Studios is billed against milestones named in the scope. Tech's consulting is billed monthly for the days worked.
Every invoice states what is being charged for and over what period: a bill you cannot attribute is a bill you cannot check. If a line is unclear, ask before you pay it.
Questions we get asked
- Can I move between them?
- There is nothing to move. Each has its own contract, so taking on a second one is a new engagement rather than an upgrade, and ending one leaves the other exactly where it was.
- What happens if I stop?
- You take your data and your work in a form you can use elsewhere, and notice periods sit in the contract rather than in a policy we can change. Cloud stops charging when the resources stop running. Studios and Tech's consulting end at the close of the agreed period.
- Is there a free tier?
- No. A free tier is paid for by the customers who are not on it, and we would rather price the work plainly. The smallest instance is $5.20 a month and can be destroyed the same day, which is the closest thing to trying it without committing. The first conversation costs nothing.
- Why is there no single house-wide plan?
- Because there is no single product. One plan spanning a cloud platform, a game studio and a consulting practice would have to overcharge two of them to cover the third.
